Changed my mind…

Recently, I talked about needing luck for upcoming lotteries for two 50K races.  Well, I changed my mind about putting my name in for the lottery for the Chuckanut 50K in March.  I decided that I wanted to keep the rest of the winter and spring for focusing on road mileage, speed work, and my next road marathon.  I’m looking forward to crushing my marathon PR of 3:57:37, yup, you heard that right, CRUSHING IT.

What’s my spring marathon??

…drum roll please…

Undecided.

Haha, sorry for getting your hopes up.  I’m waiting for Cath and Mark to set a wedding date, and for us all to pick a spring marathon to run.  That way, we can do 90% of our training together, at least 90% of our long runs.

Still lots of options out there, including Whidbey Island Marathon, Eugene Marathon, and BMO Vancouver Marathon, all happening in April/May.

Since we’ve done the big long marathon training cycles before, we have a good grasp on making a training program, and putting it into affect.  And, it helps that I’ve been keeping my base mileage up, so there won’t need to be many base building weeks.  We can easily modify our training to start in mid-January for any of these spring marathons.

I’m taking it easy for 2 more weeks, going on a holiday, where I’ll still be running, but I’ll be just taking it easy and enjoying myself, before training kicks in, in the new year!  I’ve got lots of big plans for 2013, and am just working out a few details before I announce my tentative race schedule.

I’ll give you a few hints though…it’s all roads until May, trails will take over majority of my races after that, my races are more thought out/planned, and I’m only running the races I have really enjoyed in the past, or have been dreaming about.  AND, best of all (or maybe it’s worst of all…), I’m going LONG.  Dun dun dun.

xoxo
