Virtual Coffee Date!

Yesterday, Amber had this great post, called a virtual coffee date, and I had to copy it!  I just think it’s such a cute idea.  Normally, I will have coffee with a hazelnut flavoured creamer a couple days a week, and I love a caramel machiatto on a crappy day, or after a long hard run.  But, since I’m on a Whole30 journey right now, I would choose a herbal tea to have while we sit and chat.

So why don’t we go on a little virtual coffee date today?

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that I had the most rewarding track workout on Tuesday.  I would tell you about how I felt like the universe was testing me, and how I was so proud of myself for not only finishing the workout, but also because it was the fastest I’ve ever run Yasso 800′s!!  I would also tell you that this was the workout I was hoping to be able to do in 6 weeks, and that by accomplishing it sooner, I am beyond excited to see how much more I can grow, and what PR I will be able to achieve in my spring marathon!!

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that I’m hoping to run a PR on Sunday.  I have an idea of a time in my head (1:45) and I know I’m capable of running it, but just don’t know if Sunday will be my day or not.  I’d tell you that I’m scared of running that fast, and that I’m scared of not being able to, when I know I should be.  I’d tell you that I’m just going to give it my best, and hopefully everything falls into place.  I would also tell you that I’m super excited to run a race with friends!!  Hilary, Nikki, and Dianna will at be at the First Half this weekend, and I’m sure I’ll run into a few other familiar faces!  I would also tell you that I’m going to make brunch for after, using one of my fave new Whole 30/Paleo recipes, the Yam Hash along with some fruit – it’s going to be delicious!

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that my Whole 30 challenge is going really well, that I’m on day 11 now, and that it’s been easier that I expected.  I would tell you that I don’t miss any of the staples of my life, just the treats, and that I know I don’t need those treats all the time.  I would also tell you that while reading labels is annoying, I’m enjoying trying some new recipes.
I would also tell you that I really need to do a review of the book, It Starts with Food that started my interested into Whole30, but that I’m majorly slacking.

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that we have a new holiday on Monday, Family Day!  I am probably going to the states with Nikki, yes very family orientated, but it’s not my fault, my parents have ditched me for Mexico!!  I will be taking my Gram for a visit with a family friend as well, so that counts!

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that I have an exciting year of weddings, and that I’m very excited to be a part of so many special couple’s special days.  I would also tell you that I wish I had all the dates for stagettes/bridal showers/other wedding stuff, so that I could plan out my life.  With 6 weddings from May-Oct it’s going to be insanely busy!!

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you I will be doing A LOT of running from now until September 1st, when I am running my first 50 Miler, which scares the crap out of me, so I’m ignoring it until after my spring marathon.  Out of sight, out of mind??  I’d also tell you that I’m excited about my spring marathon choice.  Kim will be running the half, and I know the course is gorgeous, so I’m really looking forward to it!  I would tell you that I’m sad to not be running the BMO Marathon in Vancouver for a 3rd straight year, but that I realize that I had to make a choice.

If we were having coffee this morning I would tell you that life is good!  That I’m happy, healthy, and just enjoying myself.  I would tell you that it feels great to chat about life, and be so focused and positive!

If we were on a coffee date this morning what would you tell me?

xoxo

    This is a great idea.

If we were having coffee (although we have never actually met face to face) I would say your doing well with your speed training. I would tell you that I think your going to get a PB on Sunday.

If we were having coffee I would ask about Whole30 and how your meals tasted. They looked delicious. I would ask you how your overcoming any cravings for those treats? I saw Nikki’s post and some of those look like a good idea. I crave sweet and salty things from time to time.

If we were having coffee I would tell you about all the races and running plans I have for this year.

  5. I love seeing so many people on the Whole30! I just finished it in January and it was great! I remember being shocked at what was in my food once we started reading labels more carefully. So much corn!

Love it!! I also have a couple of weddings this summer where I REALLY wish the bachelorettes and showers would get planned. I know not everyone is as much of a planner as me but it’s hard when I also have 50 K training to think about and a couple of trips for work!
