Day 1 Beast Streak = Success!

I’ll be honest, this morning was not pretty.  I woke up with a headache the size of New York, and I felt really super crummy.  The Beast Streak was almost not even started.  It was raining outside, my ankle/foot has been iffy, my head hurt, my day was a bit turned upside down to start with.  So, I questioned whether I would even get out the door.  But, I grabbed the dogs, and forced myself out.  You may have noticed, I haven’t been wearing a watch or tracking my kms in the past few months, so I just put the stopwatch on my phone on and off I went.  I took my phone to time myself, and grab some photo proof, but I didn’t think it was going to be particularly pretty in my trails.  I was wrong.

I had a GREAT run!  I was even running uphill, and feeling strong today.  My ankle felt good, all around I just felt good.  Heading home I ran into my neighbour and joined her and her little vizsla puppy for their walk, and then ran into another friend on the trails.  That’s definitely the second best thing about living here, the trails are right out the door, and you almost always run into people while you’re out, and more often than not you know them too!

Wonder who I’ll run into on Day 2….

Even in the rain, it was still gorgeous out there!

How was your Day 1?  What’d you get up to?

What trail is that Solana? It’s truly beautiful. I love squamish as well.

Your trails look wonderful even in the rain! I’m about to head out for my #adventrunning streak. It is the ONLY reason I’m going to go out, even if it’s just for a few miles. Super-grateful I’m doing it for that very reason.
