If you’ve read my “Running Story“, you know that I began running when I was 20, and over the last 7 yrs I have progressed from running 10 km races to running marathons, and have also gotten much faster, much lighter, and all around a much better runner. This is due to weight loss, proper training, and plain hard work.
What you might not know, is that I’ve somehow tricked my whole family into becoming runners…
I wanted to share a recap of my thoughts on the entire training cycle for my 2nd Marathon, the BMO Vancouver Marathon on May 6/12, before I run the race, so that my thoughts aren’t biased on the results.
No real topic for today…Just a few reasons to smile on this FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!
First off, I’m excited that today is the first day of spring, and Vancouver responded with a lovely sunny day. Don’t be fooled though, it is still VERY cold out there! Mom and I went out to take on a quick 6km this morning, and when we got to 3km, we decided to keep going because it was a perfect running day.
Last night was a dreadful night in Vancouver. It was so wet and windy, and it was one of those nights you just want to curl up in a blanket on the couch and watch tv.
Luckily, or unluckily, I have Sun Run Training on Wednesday nights. And that means that I have committed to being there every Wednesday night, and when I’m not there, they notice and ask me where I was! So, I put on my runners and out the door I went.
